AlQa'dah 7, 1432, Oct 5, 2011, SPA - The Sixth Ministerial Conference of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) on Food Security and Agricultural Development under the theme “Agricultural Development and Access to Food and Nutrition in OIC Member States” is currently reviewing in Istanbul the state of food security and performance of agriculture in OIC Member States. During its four-day deliberations scheduled to conclude tomorrow in the Turkish city, the Ministers will dwell specifically on ways and means of promoting intra-OIC cooperation in the area of agriculture, rural development and food security. The keynote address of Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, the Secretary General of the OIC at this meeting will highlight on-going OIC interventions to promote agricultural development in Member States, as well as measures undertaken to implement the decisions of the previous Ministerial Conferences, according to a latest press release of the OIC issued in Jeddah. --More
