AlQa'dah 20, 1432, Oct 18, 2011, SPA - Japanese stocks dropped 1.5 per cent Tuesday after overnight losses on Wall Street and European markets as export-oriented issues were dragged down by the yen's appreciation. The benchmark Nikkei 225 Stock Average lost 137.69 points, or 1.55 per cent, to close at 8,741.91 after rising 1.5 per cent on Monday. The broader-based Topix index was down 10.64 points, or 1.4 per cent, at 751.24, according to a report of the German Press Agency "DPA".
