Police say a crowded bus has collided with a truck in the eastern Indian state of Jharkhand, killing 20 passengers and injuring 25 others. Police Superintendent A.V. Minz says 13 people died instantly in the head-on collision early Monday, while seven others died in hospitals, according to a report of the Associated Press. Minz said the truck's cargo added to the carnage, noting it was "loaded with iron girders which pierced the bus." The accident occurred near Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand state.
