Six people are dead and 12 are injured after a coach and a truck collided early on Sunday in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Xinhua quoted police as saying. The accident occurred around 2 a.m. when a coach carrying 43 people and a refrigerated truck collided on a highway in Santong village, Tengxian county in Wuzhou city. Five people died at the scene and another died later in hospital. Of the 12 injured, two were seriously hurt, said police. The truck, with a driver and two other people in the cab, was heading from Guangdong to the southwestern Guizhou Province. The driver and a passenger died at the scene, and the other was injured. All the injured people were receiving treatment in hospital and their conditions were all stable, said doctors. Police said the coach was not overloaded as it had 43 seats, but the truck, with a maximum load capacity of 3.95 tons, was carrying nine tons. The coach, belonging to Guangxi Yunde Auto Transport Group, was heading from Binyang county to Shenzhen in Guangdong. The truck was registered in Guizhou Province. The collision disrupted traffic on the highway until 6 a.m. Police are still investigating the cause of the accident.
