A $ 56.25 million loan agreement between the Saudi Development Fund (SDF) and the Republic of Mali to finance the Djenne dam project was signed here today on the sidelines of the 36th annual meeting of the IDB Board of Governors. Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf, Minister of Finance and Director of SDF Board of Directors from the Saudi side and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Republic of Mali Lassen Buari from the Mali's side co-signed the agreement. On other hand, another agreement was signed under which the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will offer the Republic of GuineaConakry a grant of $ 4.5 million to implement the 4th phase of the Saudi program to drill wells and rural development, applied by the Kingdom in a number of African countries to overcome the problems of drought and to provide villages with potable water. Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf, Minister of Finance and Director of SDF Board of Directors from the Saudi side and Deputy Minister of Finance of the GuineaConakry from the GuineaConakry's side co-signed the agreement. Signing ceremonies of both agreements were attended by Dr. Mohamed Al-Jasser, Governor of the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA) and Engineer Yousef Al-Bassam, SDF Vice Chairman and Managing Director.
