Awwal 20, 1432, April 24, 2011, SPA -- A delegation of the Department of Humanitarian Affairs, an affiliate of the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) is currently visiting Iraq to hold meetings with Iraqi officials. In a press statement this morning, the OIC said the delegation's visit comes after a tour of its Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu to Iraq in the middle of the month of last March during which he met Iraq's political leadership and a number of political figures there. The delegation, which is headed by OIC Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs, Ambassador Ata Mannan Bakhit said the delegation will discuss with the Iraqi side, a number of related programs, prospects of cooperation in the areas of rehabilitation of the Iraqi community and the development process taking place currently in Iraq. During the four-day visit, he said the delegation members will meet with a number of Iraqi humanitarian relief organizations and international organizations which are proactive in the humanitarian field in Iraq.
