Akhir 08, 1432, March 13, 2011, SPA -- The White House Saturday welcomed the Arab League's decision to support a no-fly zone over Libya. The Arab League called on the United Nations Security Council to impose the no-fly zone in an effort to protect civilians in the North African country. The resolution, which came after a six-hour meeting of Arab foreign ministers in Cairo, also called for the League to hold dialogue with the opposition Libyan National Council, according to a report of DPA. The White House press secretary said the Arab League's decision strengthened support "for the Libyan people." "The international community is unified in sending a clear message that the violence in Libya must stop, and that the Gaddafi regime must be held accountable," the press secretary said.
