GCC secreetary general Abdul-Rahman al-Atiyyah has highlighted the existing consultation between the Saudi and Qatari Leaderships on all issues of mutual interest. In a press statement yesterday, al-Atiyyah said these existing strong relations between the two Leaderships have been positively contributing to enhancing the march of the GCC as well as bilateral relations. He noted that the existing consultation between the Kingdom and Qatar has also a positive impact at the regional and international arenas. The visit of Sheikh Hamad ibn Khalifa al-Thani, the Qatari Emir, to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia as well as his meeting with King Abdullah in Makkah will accelerate the march of the joint gulf work and will benefit the citizens of the GCC member states, he noted. Al-Atiyyah pointed out that Riyadh and Doha have been playing an influential role as regards enhancing the march of the gulf work at all levels in front of challenges and new developments as well as meeting the aspirations of the GCC nations who are eager for further cooperation, understanding and coordination. He praised the vital and influential role of the Saudi and Qatari Leaderships in the support of the Arab causes notably the Palestinians cause. The gulf leaders have proved that they are capable of cementing their relations and exerting further efforts for enhancing the pillars of security, stability and prosperity of the region in all domains, he added.
