Qatari ambassador to the Kingdom Ali bin Abdullah al-Mahmoud has underscored the importance of the meeting of the Saudi-Qatari coordination council, due to be held here tomorrow, and said the council embodies the existing fraternal relations between the Kingdom and Qatar. In a statement to SPA, he said the council will review a number of topics which positively contribute to the acceleration of the wheel of development in the two countries. He noted that a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding will be signed during the meeting. The great attention given by the Leaderships of the two countries to the council reflects their aspirations and expectations that the council will play a positive role as regards attaining several achievements, he said. The Saudi-Qatari relations are deep-rooted and the two countries are linked with the bonds of kinship, language, religion and history as well as the common fate, he said noting that Saudi Arabia and Qatar have positively contributed to the establishment of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). Al-Mahmoud pointed out that the GCC embodies the spirit of cooperation among its member states, and contributes to further enhancing relations between Saudi Arabia and Qater. The wisdom of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz and Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani as well as the Heads and members of the council provides a guarantee for the success of the council in performing its mission and realizing the aspirations of the peoples of the two countries, he elaborated.
