A magnitude 5 earthquake shook Yogyakarta in central Java at around 6:41 pm on Saturday, but it did not have the potential to cause a tsunami. The epicenter of the quake was located 115 kilometers southeast of Bantul district, south of the city, at a depth of 10 kilometers below sea level, ANTARA quoted the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophyisics Agency as saying. People in the districts of Gunung Kidul, Bantul, Sleman and Yogyakarta city felt the tremors which were quite strong but lasted only a few seconds.
