A magnitude 5.3 earthquake was recorded at 14.47 pm in the district of Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta, in Central Java on Saturday. The tremor however was not felt by people in Yogyakarta city as its epicenter was located 169 kilometers below sea level southeast of Wonosari, the district`s capital, ANTARA quoted the head of information and data service of the Meteorology and Geophysics Agency here, Tiar Prasetya, as saying. One of the agency`s staffers, Retno, said some people in Gungkidul felt the tremor but it was very weak. She said an earthquake measuring 6.0 also occurred at around 3 pm in Ujungkulon, Banten, West Java. Its epicenter was 295 kilometers deep.
