The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) said a 5.8-magnitude quake struck Sinabang in a depth of 18 kilometers, and its epicenter 65 kilometers Northeast of the town in Nangroe Aceh Darusalam. The BMKG said the quake struck on Tuesday at 9.07 pm, and located 2.60 degrees north latitude and 95.78 eastern longitude, but was far from strong enough to trigger a tsunami. Indonesia on Tuesday was shocked by three tremors, the first struck at 10.59 am with a magnitude of 5.8 on the Richter scale in Wonosari, Yogyakarta, in a depth of 16 kilometers. The other struck at 11.21 am with a magnitude of 5 on the Richter scale, in a depth of 143 kilometers and an epicenter 98 kilometers west of Gorontalo, ANTARA reported.
