An earthquake measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale rocked Kefamenanu town in East Nusa Tenggara province on Sunday night, prompting many residents to rush outdoors. The epicenter of the quake which struck at 8.50 p.m. was in the sea 123 km northeast of the provincial capital Kupang at a depth of 10 km, ANTARA quoted spokesman for the Kupang Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Station Jhonly as saying. The temblor was not significant enough to trigger a tsunami, he said. There was no immediate report of casualties or material damage.
