Exercises nicknamed "Al-sammam-3", organized by the Saudi armed forces in cooperation with a number of fraternal and friendly countries in the Kingdom"s southern region began today. The 3-week exercises are aimed at improving the performance of the armed forces. King Faisal Tenth Brigade and a token group from the Pakistani armed forces are participating in the exercises in the presence of commander of the southern region Major General Ali Khawaji. Speaking on the occasion, Major General Khawaji said the exercises will positively contribute to enhancing cooperation between the armed forces in the two countries. Saudi and Pakistani flags were hoisted on the occasion. --SPA
