Customs officials at Al-Bathaa point foiled an attempt by smugglers to cross the Saudi border carrying over 6576 bottles of wine and eight devices of metal detectors. Director of Al-Bathaa Customs Department Dhaifallah bin Badr Al-Itebi said that the Department officials confiscated bottles of wine which were hidden into power transformers on board of a truck. Al-Itebi added that eight devices of metal detectors, hidden in a machine on board of another truck, were also captured, pointing out that the drivers of the two trucks were transferred to the concerned authorities. -- SPA
