Tropical Storm Nora is weakening and has slowed as it spins far out in the Pacific Ocean, the Miami-based National Hurricane Center (NHC) said Thursday. Nora's maximum sustained winds had decreased to 85 kilometers per hour (kph) early Thursday. Additional weakening is forecast for the storm that is not expected to threaten land. Nora was centered about 1,100 kilometers west-southwest of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula and was moving west-northwest near 7 kph, the NHC said.
