Tropical Storm Nora has formed in the Pacific Ocean far off Mexico's western coast, and U.S. forecasters said it is not expected to threaten land. The storm had maximum sustained winds near 65 kilometers per hour (kph) and was expected to strengthen, the Miami-based National Hurricane Center (NHC) said. Early Wednesday, Nora was centered about 1,000 kilometers southwest of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula and was moving northwest near 13 kph, the NHC said.
