Presided over by its vice chairman Dr. Bander bin Mohammed Hajjar, the Shoura Council held today its 27th session. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Council's Secretary General Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Ghamdi said that the Council continued discussion of the annual report of the Ministry of Agriculture for the fiscal year 1427/1428H and decided to hold further discussions on it in a future session. The council approved recommendations concerning plans of the Ministry of Water and Electricity, Water Desalination Authority, Electricity Organization and Dual Production Authority and Saudi Electricity Company for the next four years. The recommendations dealt with ways of improving water and electricity services stressing the need for maintaining the state's possession of underground and desalinated water and not offering shares of government companies working in the sector of water for public subscription. The council approved recommendations concerning an annual report of the General Auditing Bureau aiming at improving its work.
