Presided over by its Vice Chairman Dr. Bandar bin Mohammed Hamza Hajjar, the Shoura Council held today its 12th session. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Council's Assistant Secretary General Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al Yahya said that the Council resumed discussions of the report on the plans adopted by the Ministry of Water and Electricity, Saline Water Conversion Corporation, Electricity and Co-generation Regulatory Authority as well as Saudi Electricity Company in action from 1429-1432H. He added that the Council, after closely reviewing the report, recommended that all necessary steps be taken to facilitate the access of water and electricity services to all regions in need of such services nationwide. He added that the Council also reviewed the two annual reports of the Ministry of Labor for the fiscal year 1426/1427H and 1427\1428H proposed by the Committee for Management and Human Resources. The Council discussed the Ministry's saudization efforts as well as its role in raising public awareness in this area. The Council also discussed the annual report of the Ministry of Water and Electricity for the fiscal year 1427/1428H. At the request of some Councilors, the Council agreed that the report be held for next session for further discussions. He also added that the Council discussed the annual report of the Saudi Post Corporation for the fiscal year 1427\1428H as well as the annual report of the Ministry of Social Affairs for the fiscal year 1427\1428H. After closely reviewing the report, the Council recommended that they be held for further discussions during its next session.
