Presided over by its Chairman Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, the Shoura Council held its 21st ordinary session here today. In a statement following the session, the Secretary General of Shoura Council Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Ghamdi said that the Council approved the request of the Kingdom's accession to the Protocol V of the Convention on Prohibitions or Restrictions on the Use of Certain Conventional Weapons Which May Be Deemed to Be Excessively Injurious or to Have Indiscriminate Effects. The Council also approved the appropriateness of discussing the proposed draft regulation for Saudizing the jobs of maintenance and operating contracts in government facilities. The Council discussed the annual report of the Ministry of Social Affairs for the fiscal year 1427H/1428H and approved a number of recommendations pertaining to the payment of allowance for researchers in the social security offices whose work nature requires them to conduct field survey; the establishment of a supreme council for disabled affairs; and the support the ministry of social security to expand its programs and projects that address community issues. The Council also approved specifying the services provided by bodies concerned with the care and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities.
