Presided over by its Chairman Dr. Abdullah Al Ashiekh, the Shoura Council held today its 32nd session. In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), the Council's Secretary General Dr. Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Ghamdi said that the Council approved by majority vote the report proposed by the Committee for Transport and Communications and Information Technology concerning the annual report of the Ministry of Communications & Information Technology for the fiscal year 1427/1428H. After closely reviewing the report, the council recommended the following: 1) All governmental bodies must fully abide by using e-government applications ordered by Cabinet Decision No. 40 dated 27/2/1427H on sharing public and common data. 2) Providing all necessary technological support for the facilitation of such e-transactions such as: e-health and e-learning. Dr. Al Ghamdi added that the Council also discussed a draft report on Saudi National Clothing proposed by the Committee for Social Affair, Family and Youth. The council disapproved the aforementioned report considering it as not fit for discussion. He added that the Council also reviewed the annual report of the Ministry of Higher Education and Universities for the fiscal year 1427/1428H as well as a report proposed by the Committee for Social Affair, Family and Youth on the interpretation of "Permanent Residence in the Kingdom" stated in Article II of the Social Assurance System. After fully reviewing the aforementioned reports, the Council recommended that they be held for further consideration during its next session.
