Al-Aqsa Fund (formed by the Extraordinary Arab summit held in Cairo in 2000, and managed by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has launched a $5 million joint program in cooperation with the International Islamic Charity Organization (IICO) for the medical relief and rehabilitation of health facilities and rehabilitation of the injured and disabled in the Gaza Strip. Al Aqsa Fund will work along with IICO and other partners to support this program, which aims at providing the Gaza strip mobile hospitals and psychological support centers to women and children. Following a meeting with the coordinator of the Al Aqsa Fund , IICO's President Jassem Youssef Hadji urged concerned relief organizations in Gaza to join the initiative and contribute to facing the challenges caused by the Israeli aggression on the strip where there are more than (700) children suffering from continues shelling. It worth mentioning, the Al Aqsa Fund has recently approved 25 million dollar as a contribution to the ongoing efforts for extending urgent food and medical supplies in addition to rehabilitation of health, water and electricity facilities in the strip as well as renovation of demolished houses.
