Al Aqsa Fund resulting from the emergency Arab summit held in Cairo in 2000 and managed by the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) has sent to the Gaza Strip, a convoy of medicines, medical supplies and food through the Kerem Shalom crossing as part of the aid provided by the Fund. The Administrative Committee of the Fund has adopted an urgent package worth $25 million, including some medical and food aid as well as rehabilitation of many of the facilities and educational facilities, and health bodies. With the arrival of this convoy, the total contribution of the Fund to Gaza reached $3.5 million.
