The Islamic Development Bank IDB, in its capacity as Manager of Al-Aqsa Fund has signed a memorandum of understanding with Kuwait -based International Islamic Charity Organization IICO to implement a joint program of earmarking a sum of five Million US dollars for medical relief and support for health facilities in Gaza Strip. Al Aqsa Fund was created by the Arab Extraordinary Summit in Egypt in October 2000 and managed by the Islamic Development Bank. The Aqsa Fund and IICO are setting a model and opening mechanism to contribute to the alleviation of suffering of the Gazans through providing mobile hospitals and psychological centers to rehabilitate women, children and the injured, Said Dr. Ahmed Muhammed Ali, President of IDB who signed the agreement on behalf of Al-Aqsa Fund For his part, Yosef Jassem El-Hadji, the President of IICO said that it was an honor to put hand in hand with Al-Aqsa Fund for tangible partnership in providing food and medical supplies, and in the rehabilitation of health facilities in Gaza. He called on social and chartable organizations to help thousands of injured who suffered fractures, burns and bleeding and deformity, the result of white phosphorous bombs, disabilities resulted from amputation.
