The 96th regular meeting of the GCC Executive Board of the Health Ministers Council was concluded today at the headquarters of the Executive Bureau in Riyadh. The Director General of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Ministers of Health Dr. Tawfiq bin Ahmed Khoja said that the agenda of the meeting included several topics pertaining to technical and regulatory affairs of medicines and pharmaceuticals. He told Saudi Press Agency (SPA) that the meeting was called for searching for durable, innovative and sophisticated means to overcome the obstacles facing implementation of the GCC plans to combat diabetes, awareness, health education and health promotion. Dr. Khoja said that the members of the executive board urged member states to participate actively and constructively in Gulf Conference of the economics of heart disease and vascular to be held next April in Bahrain, urging the GCC countries to provide more political and material support for community and media to promote Gulf Program for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases, and urging to activate Gulf charter of heart health as well as Gulf integrated operational plan ( 2009 / 2018) for the prevention of cardiovascular diseases to be presented to 66th the Council of Ministers of Health Conference to be held in the Republic of Yemen for approval.
