The 68th periodical meeting of the Executive Board of the Health Ministers' Council for GCC States was concluded here today. The Director General of the Executive Board Dr. Tawfiq bin Ahmed Khoja said that the meeting's agenda dealt with several technical and regulatory issues. The Executive Board issued a number of recommendations pertaining to combating diabetes and cardiovascular diseases; primary health care; quality health care and patient safety; countering neurological illness; alternative medicine; health profession ethics; gulf referential centers; anti-smoking; elderly care; medical emergency services; dental health; and medicine pricing. Members of the Executive Body approved the agenda of the 65th Conference of GCC Health Ministers to be held in Geneva on the sidelines of the meetings of the General Assembly of the World Health Organization on May 21, 2008.
