Prince Turki bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz, President of the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME), handed in Cairo today the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's Environment Management Prize, the third in a row, to its winners. Speaking on the occasion, Prince Turki welcomed the gathering at the 7th Arab Conference of Environment Management titled :"Growth of Population Groupings and Development Ventures and their Impact on Arab Cities' Ecological Effect". He said that the advancement of Environmental Management is a basic requirement to protect the environment and preserve the natural resources and one of the important factors to realize the sustainable development in our Arab region. He noted that the Kingdom presents this prize by virtue of the policy of the government of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, which gives a special importance to preserve the environment. Prince Turki bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz stated that the aim of the prize is to promote the scientific research in the environment management, encourage the public and private sectors to use clean techniques and tools and limit the depletion of natural resources leading to sustainable development.
