PRINCE TURKI BIN NASSER BIN ABDULAZIZ, THE PRESIDENT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF METEOROLOGY AND ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION, PATRONIZED HERE YESTERDAY THE AWARDING CEREMONY OF THE PRIZE OF THE KINGDOM SAUDI ARABIA FOR ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT.
THE PRIZE IS INITIATED BY THE KINGDOM TO ENCOURAGE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION IN THE ARAB COUNTRIES.
THE CEREMONY WAS ATTENDED BY TUNISIAN MINISTER OF ENVIRONMENT AND SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT NAZEER HAMADA, SAUDI AMBASSADOR TO TUNISIA IBRAHIM AL-BRAHIM AS WELL AS A NUMBER OF SENIOR OFFICIALS AND PERSONS CONCERNED WITH ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS.
SPEAKING ON THE OCCASION, PRINCE TURKI BIN NASSER SAID PROMOTION OF THE ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT IS AN ESSENTIAL MATTER FOR THE PROCESS OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND CONSERVATION OF THE NATURAL RESOURCES, AND ADDED 'MOREOVER, IT IS AN IMPORTANT ELEMENT FOR REALIZATION OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT IN THE ARAB REGION'.
