Prince Turki Bin Nasser Bin Abdul Aziz, President of the Presidency of Meteorology and Environment (PME), said Saturday that the nomination period has begun for the Kingdom's Prize for Environmental Management, which will be awarded for the fifth time. “In line with King Abdullah's policy, which focuses on the importance of environment, he issued a Royal Decree to award this prize every two years to promote environmental issues in Arabic, Islamic and international countries,” Prince Turki said at a press conference. The prize aims to enhance scientific research in the field of environmental management and encourage the public and private sectors to use clean methods, practices and technologies to preserve the environment and reduce the depletion of its natural resources. “Improving the field of environmental management is essential to protecting the environment and its natural resources, and it is one of the important factors for achieving sustainable development in the Arab region,” Prince Turki said.
