US dollar falls, gold rises

The U.S. dollar was lower against other
major currencies in European trading Wednesday morning.
Gold rose.
The euro traded at $1.2809, up from $1.2597 late Tuesday
in New York.
Other dollar rates:
_96.813 Japanese yen, down from 97.68
_1.1466 Swiss francs, down from 1.1601
_1.2609 Canadian dollars, down from 1.2914
The British pound was quoted at $1.6050, up from $1.5775.
Gold traded in London at US$749.25 per troy ounce, up from
US$730.50 late Tuesday.
