Tropical Storm Marie is moving westward in the Pacific on a path that's taking it farther away from Mexico's coast. Marie's maximum sustained winds are near 50 mph (85 kph) and the U.S. National Hurricane Center in Miami says some strengthening is possible Thursday. The storm is centered about 735 miles (1,185 kilometers) west-southwest of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California early Thursday. Marie is moving west near 12 mph (19 kph).
