The 15-nation euro fell slightly Wednesday against the U.S. dollar as markets awaited new data from Britain and the United States for hints about the strength of their economies. In morning European trading the euro bought US$1.4159, down slightly from US$1.4168 the night before in New York. The British pound gained slightly to purchase US$1.7666 from US$1.7637 in New York, while the dollar rose to 107.45 Japanese yen from 107.07 the night before.
