The euro rose only slightly against the U.S. dollar in early Wednesday trading as markets awaited a decision on interest rates by the U.S. Federal Reserve later in the day, the Associated Press reported. The 15-nation currency bought US$1.5586 in Europe, up slightly from the US$1.5564 it purchased in New York late Tuesday. The British pound also dipped to US$1.9658 from US$1.9681 in late New York trading. The dollar bought 103.93 Japanese yen, down from 104.17 late Tuesday.
