Euro falls against dollar

The 16-nation euro fell Wednesday against the U.S. dollar.
The euro bought $1.3962 in midday European trading, down
slightly from $1.3987 the night before in New York. The
British pound rose to $1.6014 from $1.5925, while the
dollar rose to purchase 95.36 Japanese yen from 94.96 in
New York.
