The 15-nation euro rose Wednesday against the U.S. dollar as traders anticipated more interest rate hikes from the European Central Bank, the Associated Press reported. In morning European trading the euro bought US$1.5830, up from US$1.5793 the night before in New York. The British pound rose to US$1.9961, up from US$1.9944 in New York, while the dollar rose slightly to purchase 106.04 Japanese yen from 106.01 on Tuesday.
