King Abdullah II of Jordan will pay an official visit to Pakistan on August 22 IN RESPONSE TO AN invitation from President Pervez Musharraf, officials said. The visit has special significance in the backdrop of the Middle East crisis and Israeli aggression against Lebanon and Palestinians. Musharraf and the King will hold talks on the international and regional issues of mutual interest. The Lebanon situation will come up for discussion on priority basis. Musharraf will brief him about Pakistan's efforts for the rescue of the Lebanese people including his discussions with UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan and his interactions with other world leaders on the issue.
