Pakistan's President General Pervez Musharraf will visit New York on September 19-24 to address the UN General Assembly session, officials said. Musharraf will also pay a brief visit to Washington DC on September 22. He will meet the Pakistani American community at a Washington hotel. The members of the Pakistani community and their families from all over the United States have been invited to attend this meeting, officials said. The president has a heavy schedule of engagements both in New York and Washington. Musharraf is scheduled to address the UN General Assembly on September 22. He will be meeting President George Bush the same day. The president is likely to meet UN Secretary General, Kofi Annan on September 22. On the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting, Musharraf is likely to meet heads of delegations of friendly countries. On September 21, the president will be chief guest at a function being hosted by the National Commission for Human Development (NCHD), in New York. On the following day, Musharraf will be the keynote speaker at the Council for Foreign Relations, in New York.
