AN EXPLOSIVE DEVICE WAS DETONATED AS A BRITISH
ARMY PATROL DROVE BY IN THE CITY OF AMARA, 400 KILOMETRES SOUTH
OF BAGHDAD, ON SUNDAY, WITNESSES TOLD DEUTSCHE PRESSE-AGENTUR DPA.
THE INCIDENT OCCURRED NEAR THE UK MILITARY HEADQUARTERS IN THE
CITY. THE WITNESSES ADDED THAT GUNFIRE COULD BE HEARD IMMEDIATELY
AFTER THE EXPLOSION.
