An explosion blamed on a bomb rocked a Christian area northeast of Beirut on Friday evening, police said. The explosion took place inside RIZK Plaza, a shopping centre that also houses a bank, witnesses at the scene in the hillside resort of Broumnah told Deutsche Presse-Agentur, dpa. Police said the bomb caused material damage, but gave no details of casualties. Broumnah is a summer resort popular with Arab tourists. It is in the hills overlooking the capital.
