A car bomb explosion in Baquba, northeast of Baghdad Thursday killed five civilians and injured another 12, said hospital source, according to DPA. The sources said the explosion that took place in front of the building of the governor was apparently targetting a U.S. military patrol. The troops immediately sealed off the region and it was not known if there were casualties among the U.S. troops. Another car bomb went off in Khalis, 60 kilometres north of Baghdad, eyewitnesses said. The witnesses said it was not known if there were casualties in the blast on a main city road.
