Blast kills seven in Afghanistan =

A powerful explosion rocked Afghanistan's southern town of Kandahar Thursday, killing at least seven people and wounding several others, a senior official said.
The city's police chief General Khan Mohammad told Deutsche Presse-Agentur dpa that the explosive device was planted on the roadside in an area of Kandahar's city center, called Hazrat Jee Baba.
