Prince Abdulaziz bin Ahmad bin Abdulaziz, the President of the Middle East regional bureau for the international agency for combating blindness, chaired here on Saturday evening the first forum for the non-profitable organizations that work in combating blindness. The forum is organized here on the fringes of the 30th conference of the international ophthalmology council. Speaking on the occasion, Prince Abdulaziz bin Ahmad expressed appreciation for the role being played by the international ophthalmology council in combating blindness. Quoting latest statistics, he said "more than 161 million people are facing sight problems in the world. It is worth mentioning that more than 12, 000 ophthalmologists and other persons working in the field of combating blindness from various parts of the world are participating in the two-day forum.
