The Makkah-based Muslim World League (MWL) has urged Muslims to adhere to the teachings of their religion (Islam) and to learn lessons from the emigration of Prophet Mohammed (Peace be on him) from Makkah to Madinah. In a statement issued on the occasion of the new lunar year, the MWL's Secretary General Dr Abdullah al-Turki called all of the mankind to benefit from the noble principles of Islam. He also urged the Muslims to exert intensive efforts for enabling others to get acquainted with the principles of Islam. Dr al-Turki called on the Muslim countries and nations to coordinate their efforts for the defense of the interests of the Muslims through a joint Islamic work.
