The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz will patronize here later today the International Islamic Dialogue Conference, due to be organized by the Muslim World League (MWL). MWL's Secretary-General Dr Abdullah Al-Turki said the 3-day conference aims at shedding light on the concept of dialogue with followers of the various religions, cultures and civilizations. He noted that the MWL, which has been giving great attention to the conference, has formed a preparatory committee for the conference. The committee has held series of meetings and prepared working papers. Dr Al-Turki said the efforts of the MWL in the field of dialogue conform with the concern of the King who has called on the world to resort to dialogue and work for enhancing the noble human values and giving more attention to the affairs of the mankind and the family which constitutes the foundation of the community. Dr Al-Turki noted that the conference will reiterate the authenticity of dialogue with others as mentioned in the Holy Quran and Sunnah (the Prophet's teachings). "It will also aim at realizing the purposes of the Islamic Sharia and the Muslim interests as well as studying the previous dialogue experiences." He noted that the issues due to be discussed by the conference confirm the importance of the initiative of the King and the importance of dialogue as well as his call of understanding through the common factors with other societies, and establishing relations on the basis of mutual respect.
