A British soldier was killed by a roadside
bomb in the Basra region of southern Iraq, Britain's
Ministry of Defense said Wednesday.
The soldier died from injuries sustained in the blast at
11:20 p.m. local time (2020 GMT) Tuesday, defense spokesman
Wing Commander Trevor Field was quoted as saying by The Associated Press.
