Indian Soldiers on Wednesday killed two suspected rebels in a gun battle after they crossed the cease-fire line dividing the Indian and Pakistani portions of Kashmir, a military spokesman said. The army stopped the pair in the Tangdhar sector near the so-called Line of Control that separates Kashmir between India and Pakistan, the spokesman, Lt. Col. V.K. Batra, said. Another suspected rebel was killed in a separate gun battle in the same area, he said. The army also fought an overnight gun battle with another group of rebels who allegedly entered the Indian portion of Kashmir from a remote, snowbound mountain pass in the Kabuli Gali sector, Batra said. "We tracked down a very large group, probably 30 to 35 people, making incursions into Indian territory over the glaciers and they have been engaged," Batra told The Associated Press on Wednesday.
