Bahrain's envoy in Iraq was shot and slightly wounded by gunmen who opened fire on his car in Baghdad on Tuesday, the second attack on a senior Arab diplomat in the city in three days, police and hospital sources told Reuters. About four gunmen opened fire on the envoy's car in the capital's upscale Mansour neighbourhood as he was being driven to work, a police source was quoted as saying. The driver was unharmed. Bahrain's Information Minister Mohammed Abdul-Ghaffar Abdullah said Hassaan al-Ansari will return to Bahrain after a few days to continue his treatment and described the attack as a "criminal terrorist" act, the official BNA news agency said. "The minister affirmed that ties between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Iraq will not be affected by this unfortunate incident," BNA added. --SP 2300 Local Time 2000 GMT
