Six people were killed in northwest Syria Saturday after their truck veered out of control on a steep road, the Syrian Arab News Agency said. The agency quoted hospital sources in Lattakia, 348 kilometres northwest of Damascus, as saying that five people died at the scene, close to the village of Ain al-Baida, and the sixth died at the hospital. Police sources in the village said the truck had been travelling at considerable speed and was overloaded. The passengers are understood to have been on a hunting trip, DPA reported.
