Two earthquakes measuring 4.7 and 3.9 on the Richter scale jolted the town of Bahabad in central Iranian province of Yazd early Tuesday, the official news agency IRNA reported. The quakes occurred at 6:44 a.m. and 7:14 a.m. (0214 and 0244 GMT respectively), IRNA reported, adding that the epicenter of the quakes was about 200 kilometers southeast of the provincial capital of Yazd. No reports on possible damage were immediately available. Iran is situated on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines and quakes of varying magnitudes occur often.
