An earthquake measuring 3.2 on the Richter scale hit today morning regions between the provincial cities of Jahrom and Darab in this southern province, according to IRNA. The provincial seismological center affiliated to the Geophysics Institute of Tehran University registered the quake at 09:42 hours local time (0612 GMT). The quake was epic-entered in an area measuring 28.38 degrees in latitude and 54.06 degrees in longitude some 200 km southeast of the provincial capital city of Shiraz. Force four quake or below is not strong enough to cause damage. Iran is often hit by quakes of varying magnitudes as it sits on some of the world's most active seismic fault lines.
